images/stories/Membership/Renewal Form OMBA is the result of a request by the Florida Greenways Commission and the Marion Parks and Recreation Department to create one entity representing the common interests of mountain bikers with which they could communicate. It was at this point in time that 10 to 15 local riders created the Non-Profit Association with one goal in mind – to gain legal access to the area now known at the Santo Trail Head. In agreeing to let mountain bikers have legal access to the trails, the state required OMBA to maintain the existing trail system. They also informed OMBA that any trail improvements would require volunteers. In order to maintain and build trails, funds are needed to purchase equipment and supplies. Without OMBA, legal access to the Santos Trail Head and future development of new trails would not and will not exist, as we now know it. Detailed information about our riders will not be given to any outside entities without your explicit permission.
